Be aware: experience ≠ experience
There are a lot of PM consultants in the market. Many of them have quite some experience in consulting about PM according to theory and standard models that allegedly fit to everything. But while the people in charge are learning over a longer period of time what really works and what does not - they are gone and miss out on that learning.
I also know the PM theories from my certified PM education at the GPM -
but it was the >10 years of experience as a responsible PM that gave me the deep understanding of the practical issues.
